Spotlight

Extra Life

At this year’s E3, an annual gaming expo, Trey helped bring awareness to Extra Life, an organization that unites gamers around the world to play games in support of sick and injured kids at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals across North America. In an epic Human Claw Machine Game, Trey presented one lucky winner with a custom Xbox One wrapped in a Philadelphia 76er’s skin.

American Christian Institute

WJSFF sponsored ACI’s 9th annual Back-to-School Picnic & Bookbag Giveaway in Philadelphia in honor of Will’s roots in the city. ACI gave away 750 bookbags full of supplies to local students who otherwise may have started school without the resources they need to succeed.  They also provided access to nutrition counseling, flu shots, and diabetes and blood pressure screenings to the attendees to help eliminate health disparities in the community.

Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House

Each and every day, the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House provides free housing for over 250 family members of children receiving treatment for serious illnesses. This year, we were honored  to sponsor their annual fundraising gala to help them continue and expand their support of families in need.

Lucy in the Sky

WJSFF creates impact by investing in the potential of budding filmmakers. In 2017, WJSFF awarded writer, Jennifer Rudin, for her script Lucy In the Sky, a film about a 14-year-old girl on the autism spectrum as she starts mainstream high school. This year, we were excited that our investment in Jen allowed her to produce the short film which stars Whoopi Goldberg and further destigmatize the lives of neuroatypical young people.

March On for
Brain Injury

As a champion of health and wellness in our communities, WJSFF provided a grant to March on for Brain Injury, a non profit that works to minimize brain injuries through prevention and to support, educate and advocate for individuals with brain injuries and their families

Make-A-Wish x King Hussein Cancer Center

During the Aladdin tour, Will’s Genie character wasn’t the only one passionate about granting wishes. Utilizing Will’s global reach to help kids with serious illnesses feel inspired and supported, WJSFF teamed with Make-A-Wish and Disney to raise over $1,000,000 through Disney’s #FriendsLikeMe Challenge.

While in Jordan, Will and Disney hosted a special screening of Aladdin at the King Hussein Cancer Center. In addition, Will’s experience with the patients inspired him to create academic and vocational scholarships for the KHCC cancer patients, including refugees.
