Will & Jada Smith Family Foundation and WILL Book Club Announce(s) collaboration with the Oprah Winfrey Charitable Foundation

Organizations Will Work To Establish Reading Groups to Discuss Themes and Learnings From Smith’s Memoir

LOS ANGELES – (Dec. X, 2021) – The WILL Book Club (WBC), an initiative of the Will & Jada Smith Family Foundation (WJSFF), announced today a new collaboration with the Oprah Winfrey Charitable Foundation (OWCF) to launch reading groups for young adults centered around the themes within the book “WILL”. WBC members will be invited into the immersive world of WILL and his life journey through global book club communities, heartfelt conversations, and exciting events.

WBC launched in June 2021 as a way to build a global community around the transformative subjects within the book “WILL,” which was published globally on November 9. WBC aims to support young adults ages 18 and up in utilizing the topics within the book as tools for self-mastery. The themes highlighted in “WILL” — and focused upon in WBC — include developing healthy relationships, being your authentic self, and harnessing the power of the mind and developing habits for success.

The WBC collaboration with OWCF is a perfect alignment, as OWCF has long-standing relationships with a variety of organizations and groups around the globe whose mission is to support youth education and the self-empowerment of those who have historically been underserved.

“We are so proud to collaborate with the Oprah Winfrey Charitable Foundation on this education and empowerment initiative. Through our collective efforts, we hope  to transform the path of youth around the world and empower them to fulfill the potential of their own greatness.  We look forward to working with the OWCF team to introduce the transformative themes within Will’s memoir and inspire youth to strive towards discovering their best selves.” – Jana Babatunde-Bey, President and CEO, WJSFF

WBC will provide digital discussion guides to club leaders to support them in the process. Club members will be invited to share their thoughts on the book and engage with Smith through events, conversations, and experiences.
